'The Shape of Water' story is a ripoff? Well, Guillermo del Toro doesn't thinks so

Guillermo del Toro denies stealing 'The Shape of Water' plot from late playwright

Well, this happens with almost every big movie out there, especially when that movie is popular, making money and getting prizes.

Guillermo del Toro is being accused of stealing the idea for The Shape of Water (2017) from the old play by Paul Zindel called Let Me Hear You Whisper, that was published in 1969.

Zindel's play is about a cleaning lady who forms a unique bond with a dolphin that is being used for experiments at a research laboratory.

And del Toro's movie is about a cleaning lady who forms a unique bond with a strange water creature that is being used for experiments at a research laboratory.

Even though the stories seem similar, these two works of art are a completely different thing.

Tell us what you think about it, in the comments below!
