Fun Facts: 'The Debt'

The espionage thriller 'The Debt' hit cinemas in 2011 and introduces us to three Mossad agents at two periods in their lives. One part is set in 1965 and follows them as they travel to Soviet controlled East-Berlin to capture a Nazi war criminal and bring him to Israel for a trial. Not everything goes as planned though, and they have to come up with lies to cover for their mistakes. The other part takes place in 1997, when their secrets come back to haunt them.

Helen Mirren is the 72-year-old actress from England. She has won the Academy Award for her excellent performance in The Queen (2006), and she has a lot of other awards and nominations in her career.

One of her best films is The Debt (2010), where she stars alongside Jessica Chastain, Sam Worthington and Tom Wilkinson.

The Dept (2010) is set in 1965, when three Mossad agents cross into East Berlin to apprehend a notorious Nazi war criminal. Thirty years later, the secrets the agents share come back to haunt them.

The Dept (2010) is a remake of 2007 Assaf Bernstein's movie of the same name. The Debt (2010) was written by Peter Straughan, Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn, and the director of the movie is John Madden, best known for his movie Shakespeare in Love (1998).

This movie was a breaking point for Jessica Chastain, who was unknown at the moment of its release. She had to go through a 4 months of training in Israeli martial arts Krav Maga, to prepare well for this role. But all that training paid off when Julia Roberts saw the movie and immediately wanted to work with Chastain.
