Ethan Hawke and Paul Dano are starring in a Broadway production

The actors will be playing brothers in Sam Shepard's play 'True West', which is due to open in December this year.

True West is an unofficial part of a Family Trilogy, which includes Curse of the Starving Class (1976) and Buried Child (1979).

True West premiered on July 10, 1980, and three years later, True West made Sam Shepard a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

True West is about the sibling rivalry between two estranged brothers - Austin and Lee -who have reconnected. Lee is older, and he is a drifter and a thief, and his younger brother Austin is a Hollywood writer, having a family and all that Lee doesn't.

Hawke will, of course, play Lee, and young Paul Dano will portray Austin. And James Macdonald will direct this play at Roundabout Theater Company.

True West starring Ethan Hawke and Paul Dano will premiere on January 29, 2019.
