Female led Cannes jury say the festival is not about politicsThe 2018 Cannes Film Festival has just kicked off, and this year's jury, which is heavily female and includes actresses Kristen Stewart and Lea Seydoux, director Ava DuVernay, and the panel's president Cate Blanchett, are getting ready to start the process of deciding who will receive the coveted Palme d'Or award for Best Picture. At the opening press conference, the group addressed the current state of the world, but explained that Cannes is not about politics.
Well, Cannes Film festival is about movies, and some of those movies are highly politically oriented.
Not to mention the fact that almost every year the winning movies are, in fact, the most politically oriented ones.
