Chris Hemsworth' contract for Thor is over

Chris Hemsworth is no longer contractually obligated to play Marvel character Thor.

Chris Hemsworth became famous by representing Norse God of Thunder - Thor - in Marvel Studios' series of movies.

The 34-year-old Australian actor debuted in Land Down Under's TV series and movies, before he debuted in Hollywood, playing George Kirk in Star Trek (2009). Two years later, he starred in Thor (2011), and the rest of his career is history.

Hemsworth portrayed Thor in five movies so far, and he is listed as a cast member for at least two upcoming Marvel's movies about superheroes: Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Untitled Avengers Movie (2019).

His latest effort as God of Thunder was in last year's blockbuster superhero comedy Thor: Rangarok (2017).

His contract is maybe over, but that doesn't mean that Hemsworth is over with that character.

No, sir. It is uncertain how will this situation reflect his salary though, but we will see him as Thor for at least two more years.
