'Bright' film reviewThe new movie 'Bright' is highly original. It's set in an alternate version of today's world, only here elves, orcs and humans live side by side. You can't exactly watch it on the big screen though, as it's produced by Netflix.
Director David Ayer is famous for his dark, noir-ish movies about the tough world of cops and criminals: Harsh Times (2005), Street Kings (2008), End of Watch (2012), Sabotage (2014), and Suicide Squad (2016).
His latest effort is Bright (2017), a cop drama with a twist.
Bright (2017) is an action/crime film set in a world where mystical creatures live side by side with humans. A human cop is forced to work with an Orc to find a weapon everyone is prepared to kill for.
Max Landis wrote a script, and Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, Noomi Rapace are playing the leading roles.
Bright (2017) premiered on December 22.
The critics were almost unanimous in hating the movie, but the audiences just loved it. It is so popular among movie goers that Netflix announced that they are working on a sequel!
