The actor is widely known for his serious roles, including a star turn as Winston Churchill in Joe Wright's 'Darkest Hour'.
Gary Oldman just got his Academy Award for the Best Leading Actor for his excellent performance in war-drama Darkest Hour (2018).
He was nominated for an Oscar once before, for his role in spy-thriller Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011).
Oldman has many prizes in his collection, and many nominations. He is known for versatile, serious characters mainly in dramas and thrillers.
But, he has done comedy before in many successful movies, such as Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (1990), The Fifth Element (1997), Nobody's Baby (2001), Tiptoes (2003) and Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011).
Gary Oldman is currently working on three upcoming movies and two video games, but none of those titles is in comedy genre.
