Madonna is directing a movie, again...Madonna is stepping back behind the camera to direct a film about real-life ballerina Michaela DePrince. 'Taking Flight' will be based on the memoir the dancer wrote with her adoptive mother, and will centre on her childhood in war-ravaged Sierra Leone to her rise as a world-renowned ballerina.
The pop goddess Madonna is not just a super-successful singer/songwriter and an actress, but she is a movie director too.
Her directorial debut came with Filth and Wisdom (2008), and she made another effort as a director with W. E. (2011).
Both movies didn't do well at the box office, and the critics didn't love them very much, giving them poor reviews.
But, that doesn't stop Madonna, as she is preparing to start working on her third feature film Taking Flight, about ballerina Michaela DePrince.
Michaela DePrince was born in 1995, in Sierra Leone, and she is currently living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
She was raised in an orphanage, and later on her adoptive parents told her that her parents were killed by the Revolutionary United Front, when she was three years old. DePrince was marked as devil's child because she is suffering from a skin condition called vitilligo. Vitilligo is making parts of her skin white.
DePrince managed to overcome the rough childhood, and she is now one of the most successful ballerinas in the world.
And if that is not a story for a movie, we don't know what is! So, check out this video, and find out more about it!
