Some guy tried to steal Frances McDormand's Academy Award

Having recently won er second Oscar, Francis McDormand nearly lost it. After the ceremony, the actress headed over to the Governers Ball to continue the celebration, and was briefly separated from her trophy.

Frances McDormand is the two-times Oscar winning actress from Chicago, Illinois. She was nominated for the Academy Award three times, for: Mississippi Burning (1988), Almost Famous (2000), and for North Country (2005).

She has won her first golden statuette for excellent performance in brothers Coen crime/comedy Fargo (1996), and another one McDormand earned this year for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017).

It seems like someone wanted the piece of McDormand's fame, because some man tried to steal her Oscar.

Yes, you've read that correctly, some guy wanted to steal the golden statuette from McDormand.

He was arrested pretty much immediately, and the prize was back in McDormand's hands.
